Imagine thinking that Nylander is worth more than a 4th liner and a conditional 7th is the equivalent of this

Drop Hart and Couturier and you're pretty much close to the homerun.

BWAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! This is hysterical. Why not add Giroux, Frost, Farabee, Provorov and Sanheim to the trade as well. And maybe 4 or 5 more 1st round picks.

My bad...I should have said "because the #11OA pick is usually a 4th liner"

I wasn't referring to your trade lol.
I was saying that there are people on this site who think Nylander is worth basically nothing (some proof: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1124198 ).
You are laughing at Leafs fans valuation of Nylander, which is in response to the above. We are saying that he is worth more than the paltry return some are offering (I used a 4th liner and a 7th as a made up example to make the point).

You in turn are saying that our valuation of Nylander as a player who is a #1-2RW (not a #1, better than a #2), which is in the belief that he is worth more than ****all, is the equivalent to this massive overpayment to him.

My comment essentially says, imagine thinking that the above is true.

I have offered up #11 OA and another piece multiple times and been jumped all over by Leafs fans claiming he is worth more. With his cap hit and terrible year, he just simply is not. He isn't even worth the #11 OA IMO.

I haven't seen that particular AGM, but it depends on the piece, and who is available at the draft in that position. That is just the value part of the equation.

In terms of the Leafs making a fair trade, you would have to overpay for Nylander, as the goal would essentially be to draft another Nylander, which makes no sense considering his age and the fact that Dubas would torpedo his reputation in the league.

No one is saying Nylander is valued at this price you posted here.
Maybe you offered too little, or a fair amount in the other AGM, I don't know and it doesn't matter. Assuming what was offered was fair, you have to ask why the Leafs would do that. Its the same reason why CBJ wouldn't trade Jones for anything but a gross overpayment, as it doesn't make sense for them to do so.

The Leafs do it because it clears $7 mil in cap space and you can resign all your current RFAs. That right there is added value.

Agreed. I meant that as a remark to the title of this post. It'd be a freaking lottery win for TOR to receive that much for Nylander.

Because Leafs fans aren't as stupid as you think they are. He had a rough 6 months, not bad, but not good. Leafs fans know that they aren't gonna sell low on him because he's had a rough patch, we know what he's capable of and can easily get back to that form. Nylander and MacKinnon has similar career numbers at the same amount of time in the league as Nylander has now, and look how MacKinnon turned out. Before you jump at me for "comparing Nylander to MacKinnon" I'm not. I'm saying they both have that game breaking offensive potential at the same age. Nylander won a MVP at the World Championships recently, so he obviously has the talent and potential. & that's why all your trade values are completely stupid. Cause you're trying to buy low and rip off Leafs fans then chirp them after. That's basically like saying the Avs shoulda traded Mackinnkn for the 11th overall pick in 2016 (Logan Brown) or 2017 (Gabriel Vilardi) deepening how you look at it... yikes. How would that have worked out for Colorado?

That's the dumbest reason ever said. They can move a handful of other guys to clear cap space before they have to even consider moving Nylander. Stop trying to use that excuse to justify everything.

Lol ?

No, it's a logical reason. And for the 1000th time, the chances you can trade Zaitsev is slim. The dumbest thing ever is you repeatedly posting on my AGMs knowing my valuation and thoughts on the Leafs and expecting something different.
