Even with mistakes, teams with Gardiner and Letang generate a whole lot more chances with them on the ice than they allow. You take a little bad with a ton of good.

Letang was playing as a top 5 D before he got injured. That’s letang biggest issue, staying healthy. When he’s healthy, there aren’t many D I’d take over him

By pretty much every metric, the first team was a better. HBK, dominant Letang, Hagelin skating all of the place (he was pretty injured for the second run). Didn't get pushed to a game 7 against Ottawa.

did you look up those metrics i did. you forgot to say everything i said was wrong in your opinion. yup and in two of those games letang errors led to tying or winning goal. he gets what would average out to 12 million a year if you factor in he plays 55 games on average

You didn't lol. The Corsi was significantly better in the 2016 playoffs. Relied a lot less on goaltending to win games. Scoring was spread out among three lines. 2017 was basically just Crosby, Kessel, Malkin, Guentzel. 2016 had 9 players in double digit points points. They were chipping pucks up the ice and beating everyone with speed. A better team and much more fun to watch.

yes i did and almost all of them favor the 2017 pens. forwards points has nothing to do with defensive play. letang is awful and gardiner is worse. dont kid yourself speed was the key to both pens cups

He's a career 51% corse. 52% this year. I'm not sure how that translates to "excellent possession driver" Especially with the talent he has had around him.
