Description
MIN trade - MIN moves up to snag one of the top C they will need for rebuild before they are gone at 12. Trade might be a slightly Oilers lopsided but conditional pick on Spurgeon resigning could be added

MTL trade - MTL fans won't admit it but Sekera like plays big minutes for them as there left side is weak until prospects develop. EDM gives up few picks for the salary difference

FL trade - FL needs to clear/shift cap if they want to bring in Bob this trade allows them to move 3.4M backup goalie. Trade frees up 2.1M for them

TOR trade - Cap space for Leafs and middle/bottom 6 winger for Oilers

With #12 Oilers select best forward available Zegras, Boldy, Caufield, Krebs whoever may be left at this point

Not a huge fan of that Florida trade. Russell + Safin for Pysyk, no need for Reimer.

Well based on Koskinen's season, I think we all agree they need a 1B backup. Options are pretty limited in that role from FA. Lehner and Mrazek both will get resigned by their current teams taking two best (in Oilers price range) options away leaving guys like Elliott, Nilsson, Smith and Kinkaid as the 4 likely targets through FA. Which do you choose and why?

If you want the Wild to take Gagner, then you need to sweeten the offer with more. Otherwise, I thinks it’s pretty close.

I mean Gagner isn't a bad player he had 13 points in 32 games last year, likely he get 25-35 points easily in full season. Only reason I traded him was Oilers just need to improve PK so had to replace some bottom 6 guys.

Nilsson, he had a 0.914 save percentage on a horrible Ottawa team. I’ve always been a fan of him and I think he would be the best and cheapest goalie available out of the ones you mentioned.

Don't know if he would be the cheapest. Just wondering if he would come back to EDM

If MTL isn't using their cap space, no issue with Sekera and pick(s) for one or both of those players, but Sekera can't be counted on to play any minutes, let alone big ones. Trade works well enough, it's just your description that's faulty.
No need for the hard sell. We'll take the extra cap and the picks and just leave it at that. wink
