Montreal easily rejects. I don't think they would trade Lehkonen 1 for 1 for Maatta.

Considering how thin they are on the left side, I wouldn’t be surprised. Plus Lekhonen took heat all season long in mtl for his lack of production (granted he’s good in other areas)

Then MB would win worst GM in the league because Maatta >> Lehkonen

To each their own I guess. Maatta doesn't simply fit Montreal's play style. He would not do well here. Lehkonen has more upside than Maatta

How does Maatta not fit Montreal’s play style? Maatta is a top 4 D. Lehkonen is a middle 6 winger at best

Why do you think Pittsburgh would trade Maatta? It's because they want to get faster. Montreal plays with Speed which Maatta does not have. Lehkonen is currently a middle 6 winger. If he can work on the few things that need fine tuning, he could easily become a top 6 winger.

They are going to trade him because he has the most value and highest cap hit outta him, JJ, and Petterson. Has nothing to do with his speed. Lehkonen is a 3rd liner at best. He hit 31 pts in 82 games and only 11 goals. Doesn’t scream top 6 potential to me.
