Alexander Wennberg - Leave your opinion

Description
At this point, it is clear that Alex Wennberg is on his way out of Columbus. He hasn't played in the playoffs and for the end of regular season. There have been rumours that he requested a trade before the deadline.

On the MTL side, we are waiting for the classic MB "hockey trade" that usually takes place in the month of june of each years. I think it's a great oppurtunity for the habs to buy low on a player like they did last summer with Domi and to add a real center. There was also so rumours last year about MTL being really high on Wennberg.

And again, people might say that he only scored 2 goals this year. But I still see a guy that cumulated 151PTS and +30 differential in 255GP if we exclude 2019 and his rookie year. That's 0,6 PPG.

I do not want to speculate too much on where he would fit best on the lineup. Nonetheless, I PERSONNALY think that it would benefit Domi to place him on wing with a real center.

You basically said CLB isn't even using Wennberg, so why are you trading lehkonen and a 2nd round pick for him?

Haven't the Habs learned from last years Alzner signing? Cap certainty is important. 4.4m long term is too big a gamble. Better ways to spend money.

Yeah, no. He's probably a better player than his numbers last year show, but not that much better. Lehkonen is good enough, and much cheaper, Habs should look elsewhere.

Hey I like your points about taking a chance on Wennberg, it could really work out well but with his contract it could also work out terribly. I'm not saying MB shouldn't take the risk, just definitely not at the cost of Lehk and a 2nd, that's just way too high. If the Jackets have really given up on him than it seems to me that they'd just be happy to dump that contract for scraps. ((In walks Bergevin))

I have no problem in getting Wennberg but as this would help fully CLB... I would ask something else in return... like LHD Murray.
= Lehko, Olofsson (Mid D prospect), 2nd for Wennebrg + Murray.
Shredding 8M in CLB would help signing back Duch & Pan
