You're almost $1 million of the cap, so it doesn't work.

That looks like an AHL defense. You can't put that kind of D on the ice.

Bracco being sent down fixes that but I would say that I think Marner gets more, Johnsson could be close to that or less and I think Kap gets a smaller 1 year deal. He hasn't done enough to deserve more. He disappeared in the second half of the season. Something almost everyone seems to have not noticed. Nylander outscored him down the stretch big time, but of course no one seems to have noticed that as well.

Bud, you go onto every Leafs armchair roster and throw one sentence negative comments. Why? Quit being such a troll and offer some suggestions...

In regards to the OP, Marner I could see getting 1M more on a 5 year deal, Kap and Johnson are probably close and I'm pretty sure Mikheyev gets a 1 year 925k deal. I can't see the roster being this similar to the one cleaning out their lockers this week. Middle six and defense as a whole is not cutting it and Matthews needs a better RW.

And then you're only carrying 22 players vs the standard 23 players.

Well, now you can put Hyman on LTIR and save cap there.

But I think you're a low on your cap hit for your RFAs.

All the rfa deals are light, the Marner deal significantly light, and he’s already over the cap. Bring something to the table and I’ll be nicer. But posting a team that’s over the cap and asking, “does this work?’ Deserves this kind of response

I would try to sign Johnsson and Kapanan to long termer even if costs more AAV. Should get an NHL vet Dman just for one year. Trading Brown doesn't save much cap, but another RWer does.

I was just making this to illustrate in a Reddit thread that the Leafs have way more cap problems than it appears. That even just letting their UFAs walk + only signing what they have to (what I put as pretty optimistic numbers I feel) and filling everything else with ELCs wasn't even feasible/a good option
