Babcock's comment on Gardiner was telling. Saying he wasn't "right" (due to injury), but was better than the guys we had, meaning Ozzie, Rosen weren't deemed good enough by Babcock. Gee makes you wonder how Rosen is going to feel next October when for cap reasons he might really be needed by the Leafs. Or do other Russians, feel the Leafs coaching staff isn't going to give them a fair shot, so are the Leafs going to miss out on future Russian UFAs.
I actually thought the Dermot/Ozzie combo was showing good progress, then Muzzin was acquired and Ozzie rarely saw the ice again.
I've said for a while now....Babcock isn't the guy to be coaching the Leafs, gee maybe not in the NHL.
Yeah, alot of what Babcock has said since the buzzer went in the third leaves me shaking my head and questioning his leadership abilities..
It's probably not a great idea to read between the lines too much, but I also found Matthew's comments "that he doesn't deploy himself" interesting.. not to mention that Hyman had a torn ACL since game 4, and yet he's still sent out to take draws against Bergeren on the PK and we wonder why he was getting his clocked cleaned? And Dubas accepting blame for everything from contracts to the PK, while Babcock just seems to be deflecting or evading everytime a question is asked on his decisions... methinks, not all is well in leafland.
I'm not a fan of the toronto media at all, but I think that John Shannon dude kinda hit the nail on the head when he tweeted something to the affect of .. does Babcock really think he holds no responsibility, or is he just that arrogant that he thinks that he can't be touched?
Babcock's ego might be the thing that does him in.. happens pretty often, really..
