Don't know exactly how serious this AGM is, but if anyone seriously thinks we are trading Hyman, let alone for that pitiful return, they're ****ing nuts.

I'm sure Kyle told you, "I'm trading four NHLers and a top prospect for two NHLers, and still be over the cap by 2m"

I don't know what Dubas is telling anyone right now, but from reading watching some of the leaf interviews I'd love to be a fly on the wall on whatever is brewing behind the scenes. The offseason holds some drama, methinks..

Babcock's comment on Gardiner was telling. Saying he wasn't "right" (due to injury), but was better than the guys we had, meaning Ozzie, Rosen weren't deemed good enough by Babcock. Gee makes you wonder how Rosen is going to feel next October when for cap reasons he might really be needed by the Leafs. Or do other Russians, feel the Leafs coaching staff isn't going to give them a fair shot, so are the Leafs going to miss out on future Russian UFAs.
I actually thought the Dermot/Ozzie combo was showing good progress, then Muzzin was acquired and Ozzie rarely saw the ice again.
I've said for a while now....Babcock isn't the guy to be coaching the Leafs, gee maybe not in the NHL.

Yeah, alot of what Babcock has said since the buzzer went in the third leaves me shaking my head and questioning his leadership abilities..

It's probably not a great idea to read between the lines too much, but I also found Matthew's comments "that he doesn't deploy himself" interesting.. not to mention that Hyman had a torn ACL since game 4, and yet he's still sent out to take draws against Bergeren on the PK and we wonder why he was getting his clocked cleaned? And Dubas accepting blame for everything from contracts to the PK, while Babcock just seems to be deflecting or evading everytime a question is asked on his decisions... methinks, not all is well in leafland.

I'm not a fan of the toronto media at all, but I think that John Shannon dude kinda hit the nail on the head when he tweeted something to the affect of .. does Babcock really think he holds no responsibility, or is he just that arrogant that he thinks that he can't be touched?

Babcock's ego might be the thing that does him in.. happens pretty often, really..

The only thing that will "get Babcock fired" is Shanahan's thoughts about Babcock. He's "only" owed about 24m...just Leafs paid out big money to Horton 28m for not playing. or Big money was paid for Grabowski Burke, Nonis, Wilson and Caryle for and the 6 VPs in that regime when they were fired So Rogers and Bell don't care about the money.(they just raise our telecom rates)

Now two items for Shanahan. If he thinks Babcock shouldn't be the coach, does he fire him? Can Shanahan get over his ego and admit he made a mistake in hiring Babcock or admit that four years of Babcock is all the productive years Babcock has as coach of the Leafs.

The Eastern Conference was for the taking this year with Tampa and Washington losing in the first round. That must really burn the players. Not sure if it really burns Babcock though.

I think that is exactly right. Shanny is the big dog, and he'll be the one that makes the call.

Ego runs rampant at the top of every industry, and despite what kinda boyish image Dubas puts off, I think it'd be foolish to think that he doesn't have a serious dose of ego driving his bus, too. Throw in any tension that AM might have with Babcock and there could be a real power dynamic playing out right now... that the Toronto media nuts will beat at increasingly everyday.. Shanny, Babcock, Dubas, AM... that's alot of ego..It'll be fascinating to see how it all plays out..

And I agree, that the leafs would be better without Babcock's ego running the bench..

I also agree Pal, that the only ones that'll pay for this are those of us that pay for their cable. However this plays out, it won't cost them a thing...

I'm the only person ever to say this....and I don't do it to be cruel. But I have lived with people with diminished mental abilities.

I see Babcock at the end of a game, and he seems a bit lost. Is it an act? Is just my interpretation of his facial expressions? I truly think that Babcock is showing signs of diminished mental capacities. That's just my thought, seeing a man on a TV screen, I'm certainly not wanting any one to agree with me. I'm not talking about Babcock's coaching or his press conferences, but gee when I see him behind the bench at times, he looks confused/tired.

Hmm, I dunno.

But I know with absolute certainty that being a leaf fan for several years has left me with diminished mental capacity, and I don't have a whole lot of extra to spare.. And, my face is usually one of confusion following a leaf loss, I think that's normal, but that could also have something to do with how close my beer fridge is to the TV - there could be a correlation there.
