Are these trades realistic

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
ARI Trade: Arizona needs a top 6 scorer who can help them finish some pucks. He can help their PP. A point-per-game player is huge for them and he has a good relationship with coach. Pens get a solid depth piece in Hinostroza who can definitely play top 6. Merkley isn't really going to get a chance in Arizona with so many other prospects in front of him. First adds value and the third is a little extra.

MTL trade: Montreal currently has 13 forwards, 3 RFAs and 1 UFA (Weal, who they have had preliminary discussions with). They will have to move one/many of those players. They have 12 L and 5 R, so it would make more sense to move a lefty. Their top 9 is gonna be tough to get into. I think Lehkonen is a candidate to get moved, since MTL would prefer Kotkaniemi and Poehling top 9. He will get a real chance in Pittsburgh. On the flip side, MTL gets a top 4 LHD in Maatta, which is what they need. Pens need to create cap and move some defensemen out. This 1 for 1 makes sense to me at least.

BUF trade: With a team containing so many young players, adding a physical player who isn't afraid to go in deep and get dirty, but still hold his weight in term of points is ideal. Hornqvist can definitely be a top 6 player in Buffalo. Since his contract is somewhat long, Pens take back a familiar face in Wilson, someone who was not playing much in Buffalo. Asplund is an alright prospect, and the 3rd is extra value. The trade creates cap for Pens and allows them to get younger. Buffalo adds a solid top 6 winger to their core.

TOR trade: Toronto will struggle with cap and multiple pieces will have to be sent out. There is a chance Nylander gets dealt. This deal would send Schultz, a solid top 4 RHD they have been looking for, to Toronto. They also add ZAR, a player who can move up and down the lineup. He can play his part quite well anywhere he is. With Sparks' future in question, Toronto also adds Jarry. They can take a chance with him as their backup, in case Hutchinson asks for too much. He is a risk free add who can have a lot of upside. Pens also throw in a 2nd in 2021. Pittsburgh gets back a young top 6 forward who had a down year, but who will definitely bounce back. Losing Schultz is rough, since the Pens will have to replace him through FA, where there aren't many upgrades on him, but the risk is worth it since Nylander would be amazing in their top 6.

No way the Habs give Lehk for Maatta, he's not an upgrade on what they have at LHD and they have actual steaming **** at LHD. Toronto also refuses

I feel like everyone puts Maatta down because he lacks the speediness, but beside someone like Petry, I think he can do a good job. Why do you think Toronto refuses?

Wuttt?
Maatta is better than every single one of Montreal’s left handed D. And it’s not even close. To claim that guys like jordie benn, Karl Alzner, etc are better than Maatta is asinine.

What would you change? And fair enough. Other teams will probably offer more but I was just trying to fill their needs without throwing on too much cap.

Every one of these trades is unrealistic.

The Toronto trade is a massive over payment.
You are giving up a 1st pair defense guy on many teams for an over paid winger. Then you add another roster player, a pick, and a backup goalie with trade value. No thanks.

Hörnqvist is going to be a hard piece to move. I don't see any team in the hunt wanting to trade for him. Considering the NTC that ends that. He really needs to go to a team needing a locker room guy. A team like Ottawa could really use someone like him as the culture there is broken. They need a veteran guy or two to come in and correct that. He'd be perfect for that. But no way he waives to go to that dumpster fire. To be honest, I think going to a team that isn't a "threat" could save the rest of his career from concussions. He's gonna have CTE at this rate. He's probably better off going on LTIR and retiring. But a frog can't tell when you boil the water if you raise it slow and the same can be said about humans getting CTE when they are getting paid millions.

Why has Scott Wilson been in a handful of traded to Pittsburgh over the last few days? Was he mentioned on the radio or something, so not everyone has the great idea...?

Super unrealistic for anyone smart but JR I wouldn’t put it past. You are trading anything left from DCore and not doing anything to upgrade it.

You really think Nylander won't have a bounce back year? Yikes. I think he will for sure bounce back and become at least a 50-60 point guy. He is still so young and can grow a lot as a player. As for Hornqvist, I know moving him is a stretch but some team may have interest. I wouldn't mind taking a meh contract back to make it happen.

They have all probably been from me... Wilson was on waivers last year and the Sabres wanted to get rid of his contract. I added him in this deal to take him off their hands. He can also be replaced with Sobotka, but I hear he will return to KHL, so I didn't. Im just trying to take back a contract they want to get rid of to balance it out.

The whole point of this deal is for Toronto to create some cap space and bring in multiple pieces. Letang is more expensive and only one piece. They get 3 current pieces in this one, as well as a future one, and their cap is less/about the same.

I really dont wanna trade Schultz, but when the opportunity to acquire a young forward like that arises, you take the risk. Nylander would be an insane RW for years to come. Replacing Schultz by someone like Stralman or Myers is a downgrade, but I think bringing in Nylander makes it worth it. On top of that, you have Addison who will be ready in a few seasons as well as the possibility to draft defensemen with those first round picks.

Nylander is an over paid low 20 goal scoring winger. They paid big money for the wrong player.
