That’s what I was thinking, I tried to make the trade where the money was close to equal... Marleau at 6.25 and Kapanen from 3-5 depending on term comes to around 9-11, meanwhile Brodie is like 4.5 and Bennett will be around 2.5-4.5 depending on term so that come to like 7-9 mil.

I have no idea about family reasons as whether he may want to go there, but he’s from out west. And you could definitely argue that he would have a better chance of playing time in Calgary.

I don't agree with Carlo much, but he's right in this case. Plus Marleau if he does play next year is just a plug. He play has declined considerably.

Dead on I don't understand Leaf fans keep trading Marleau and Zaitsev not happening . The options are clear Marner, Mathews or a combo of Kadri and Nylander. Those are your choices face reality please you are wasting space on the site.

I think there is literally no possibility of them moving Marleau, but I think they can move Zaitsev pretty easily. He had a fairly solid playoff series, and it seems like GMs tend to have short memories. I do think they'll have to pay to get rid of him due to the term of the contract, but it won't be anything crazy.

I agree they can get rid of Zaitsev but it will cost them. Short memory or not he is terrible.My point is they need to make a major move to solve their problems.
