PK Offersheet and Simmonds

Description
The idea behind this it to make your push while you have 2 studs still on entry level. While being able to afford extensions for Stecher and Markstrom next year.

PK will cost a lot, maybe even more than what I have but hes still a strong talented D that should play out his contract at a high level.

Trouba- I'd glady give the draft picks for him. Yeah you weaken your system a lot but having a talented cornerstone in his prime is really what you want those picks to turn into anyway.

Simmonds- Bit of an overpay so you can get him for only 2 years (he might not sign that). But a strong playoff type guy that should improve a PP that isn't very good (add Trouba and PK into that and it should be a a top level PP).

Vancouver wouldn't make that trade with Nashville. Trouba does not want to play in Canada. Hutton can get you a 3rd or a 4th round pick if your lucky.

That Simmons contract, makes the Ericsson contract look like a bargain. Overpaid for Trouba. He isn't a top 5 NHL Dman. And do you really want to sign a guy who really doesn't want to play in Canada (for good reasons)? Always better to sign guys who truly want to play for your team/city.

Dude? What part of Jacob Trouba not wanting to playing Canada don't you understand, No way he's signing an OS from any Canadian team. Chevy would likely match that. Trouba wants to play on the East Coast of the US. It's not hard to figure that out.

Even removing the 2nd rounder, I don't see Subban moving for that pile of scraps. Makes Nashville a worse team, and the 1st rounder isn't high enough to trade for an established impact player, like PK.

I agree 100%. Say Trouba signs 5yr @ $8M Winnipeg matches and Trouba is in Winnipeg for 5 more years.
