To even that trade out a bit more for Carolina you would need to take back Darling. He can be bought out, unlike Marleau. Leafs have plenty of money, just no cap space. Foegele is a folk hero now so that won’t work. A more accurate trade would be Faulk + Darling to TOR for Kap + Marleau + 4Rd pick.

A retired Marleau and Kapanen for maybe one year of TVR and Foegele (or something like that ) makes more sense. But it's only a retired Marleau scenario. Then the Leafs would be cap complaint and forget the other trades.
