New Jersey would say NO. Kadri is a problem, Zaitsev is a cap dump for you and Brown is a 3rd winger who is nothing without a supporting cast.

Zacha is a bust, Carrick is worse than Holl and Santini is barely upgrade over Zaitsev. Just scrap the NHL then, everybody is a problem..

Kadri is worth more than that package alone.

Zacha is such a bust, it hurts so bad.

I liked him and I like him still but i dont see him being good. Maybe change of scenery would help but im not positive in that regard.

The only thing he is good at and good for so far is defensively. He is actually damn good on the PK.

As much as I dislike him, Kadri is worth a lot more than that package. He’s so good defensively and can put up points. And he’s on a really good contract. New Jersey would be dangerous with Kadri as their 3c behind Hischier and Hughes.

I don't think you can call Zacha a bust. It is more that NJ way over drafted him. The kid by no means tore it up in juniors. I think he can be a fine 3C which is perfect for NJ now that they have Hischier and Hughes as 1-2.

I don't think Kadri wants to play 3C anymore so I don't think he would agree to go to NJ.

Sure you have gotten rid of cap of 5m in cap but you have degraded the Leafs by a lot on the ice.
Zacha isn't a 3rd line centre. Carrick is an iffy NHLer. (didn't you see him as a Leaf?) and Santini is young but not necessarily NHL good. A lot better ways for the Leafs to get rid of cap.

Don't know why folks keep on saying Zaitsev is a cap dump. The Leafs need to dump cap, but Zaitsev is NHL capable and 4.5m isn't much of overpayment if at all.

They would be dumb not to.. zaitsev is the best Dman in the trade and Kadri the best forward.
