I don't see why we would give up a very productive forward for #15 OA when we are in win now mode.

I don't think its win now mode. Their window will open in a couple of years when Farabee, Frost, O'Brien, Ratcliffe, etc are all regulars.

Id be careful throwing around the "win now" mode saying with the Flyers. Team is trending upwards but didnt make the playoffs; not win now mode right now

If you listen to Fletcher and Holmgren, the time to start contending is now.

If they come out of this with Soderstrom and Caufield, how is that not a win? They'll be on ELC through the years the Flyers are contending. Plus getting Hinistroza whos a middle 6 forward and only 25 is great. You don't want to end up as the Winnipeg Jets having to re-sign everyone right now and nothing to show for it.

Make the playoffs first.
Then you contend.

You don't make the playoffs by dumping a 60+ point winger for a draft pick and bottom 6 F

Winnipeg would consider that. Ehlers had another rough year, and he might be pushed out of the top 6 by Vesalainen next season. And they'll need a dman if Trouba and Myers are gone soon. What about Sanheim instead of Gost? Winnipeg would prefer someone with size, and they need a 2-way dman, not an offensive guy like Gost. Plus Sanheim is from Manitoba

I think sanheim is going to turn into phillys best dman, and a perfect summer for Winnipeg to rob him and hopefully they give up on Patrick early and throw him in also

Of course, it's an overpay lol

Ghost and a b prospect or 3rd or something would be my thoughts. Not another useful NHLer for a cap dump.

When did I ever personally suggest dumping a 60+ point winger?

You said we should try and make the playoffs before contending but if we lose a 60+ point player for picks, that doesn't help our chances.

My point still stands.
I never suggested dumping a 60+ point player. I said make the playoffs, but never suggested a trade of that sort.
