I don't think anyone is giving up a 3rd for Grimaldi. I also don't think there is any way possible that Poile trades Ellis after forcing him to sign a deal with a NTC. No FA would ever sign with the Preds without one if they think there will be a chance of being traded in the first year of their new deal.

I agree, I think the Leafs would do this trade. They upgrade their D for a similar cap hit to Nylander and they get rid of Zaitsev's contract. It's the Preds I don't see doing this deal. They likely aren't going to trade Ellis, it will be PK because of his $9m cap hit
