WOW I never realized how team-friendly MacKinnons deal is. Also, move Makar up to at least 2nd pair. He's earned more than just 3rd pair minutes, at least to start the season.

Makar will be defecto Number 1 by next year, the kids a stud. Not just MacK, but Landeskogs contract is money right now too. To get the combo of them under 12m. Avs can't waste those golden years left and should load up starting next year. The pieces are there, the talent is all assembled, now its add around the fringes, shore up the 2nd line, and just win baby

Long run Makar is #1 but Barrie is no worse than #1B on this roster next year.

I still wouldnt mind seeing if the Avs could squeeze Skinner at LW onto this roster.
Could move Calvert or Neito to help offset the cost.

I think the major "error" with this AGM is Caufield. Hes been great, but i dont think Avs take him at #4

I don't think so either, He would be a solid draft pick but thats reaching a big for him at 4. The U18s are really upping his stock, I see him going 6-8 range

Maybe trade down to 6-8 and pick up another pick. I originally had Dach but thought, what the hell, why not grab a guy that puts up goals. 72 goals in USDP and 29 goals in 28 USHL games. He's small, sure. But Arvidsson, Marchand, Gaudreau, Atkinson, Marchessault, etc. These small players can succeed in today's game.

I didnt see a trade proposal so thats why i assumed you were picking him at #4. A trade down to 6-8 and picking him is a whole other separate conversation.
I think Cozens,Turcotte, Dach are all viable options at #4 Assuming Hughes, Kakko and Byram/Podkolzin go 1-3.

I don't see Calvert going anywhere. They brought him in for a reason. Big character guy. I mean, they asked him to take Makar in to live with him and his family.

This is true, Makar is living with Calvert BUT this team has the cap space and could us a top 6 scorer

I'd rather lose Soderberg over Calvert, and I think the former is far more likely to be dealt. Soda is just so hit or miss, and his play in the playoffs (aside from his feed to Rants in OT) has been downright embarrassing.

Easy tiger. Sodas been a good 2 way work horse for us as #2 C this year. No chance Calvert > Soda

Couldn't agree more, but I think Compher's coming into his own and if we're talking about getting rid of salary...Soda's a pretty damn good candidate at 4.75 mil for 1 year.
