Had some of his best years under AV. Would be a great fit as a middle 6 winger plus a huge boost to the PK.

Oh, he was great for the Caps. He was pretty much as advertised, speedy winger who's a PK ace. Our PK improved greatly when he joined the team at the deadline.

Absolutely. I feel like you guys will sign either him or Connolly. Connolly has a better chance at more money elsewhere though

From what I've heard, Connolly would like to stay, for the right price. He can either go sign with a fringe team that needs scoring and play in a bigger role, or play on the Caps and be a 3rd liner for the foreseeable future. In order to sign Connolly, the Caps would likely need to part ways with Niskanen.

What do you do with Burakovsky?

We're probably not going to tender him an offer at $3.25M. We could probably try to sign him after non-tendering to a cheaper deal, or just let him walk. He's not worth the QO at this point, but he could be a candidate for a prove-it deal. Obviously, that gives him the freedom to sign elsewhere, but from what he's said, he likes it here, and I don't see another team paying him over $2M.

According to the offer sheet compensations on here, I'd offer no more than 2,029,658. That gives up a 3rd which I'm fine with, but not a 2nd.

Yeah, exactly. Depends on what we could get for him in a trade too, but you lose a bit of leverage if the other team knows you aren't going to qualify him.
