Was this a good signing?

Juulsen is already better than Dermott. Imagine being a stanley cup favorite in a must win year only to go out in the 1st round. Even if Montreal doesn't draft good, atleast they proved they can win when it counts.

Juulsen finished the season in the AHL this year and has 8 career points .... Dermott plays like 20 minutes a night and has 34 career points .... they're the same age.

GTF outta my face with these comments until Juulsen becomes a full time NHL player .... if he ever does.

When you narrow down any teams drafting to the exact subset you want ... they'll all look good.

But you still don't have many 2016 - 2018 draft picks that have been successful in the NHL do you? (besides your 3rd overall pick - who did not look as good as Tkachuk this year).

It's going to be hard to make up for your last decade of drafting.

I am going off when this pick was made (2016). Don't act like the Leafs have had good drafting outside of the first round either.

Matthews = 1st round
Marner = 1st round
Nylander = 1st round
Kadri = 1st round
Rielly = 1st round
Johnsson = 7th round
Dermott = 2nd round
Bracco = 2nd round
Sandin = 29th overall
Brown = 6th round
Grundstrom = 2nd round
Durzi = 2nd round
Leivo = 3rd round

Not bad at all if you ask me.

Bracco and Sandin are both gonna be stars (Bracco has 82 points in his last 60 AHL games)

Got hurt playing the Capitals. eye injury, was sent down to rehab it there but it was more serious than initially thought. A quick google search probably would have gotten you this information.

Its obvious that TML drafting went back on track with 2015...dont know where to look but seems like -2014 set of scouts were sent to Gulag, so future looks bright
