He could very well be the steal of the 1st round. I believe he was projected as a top 15 player prior to the draft. Actually, Valeno wasn't the only DET 1st rounder to fall in the draft. Zadina was projected to go 3rd to MTL or 4th to OTT. I loved Valeno at 30th and Sandin (TOR) at #29. I predict that both of these guys will at least start next season with the big clubs.

I was shocked when Dubas passed on Veleno for Sandin ... but I've also been shocked by how good Sandin is.

Sandin might end up being the a top two defensemen in his draft year.
