Nahh CHI doesnt want to trade two promising players and two high picks for a declining winger who you guys signed to an awful contract and no thanks on the backup, we have other options.

Because Panthers have little depth on D and the Panthers already have so many prospects in the system developing. A 13th overall pick isn't going to get you an NHL ready player. A young established defenseman is hard to get especially when they aren't taking up so much cap space.

I agree it's a bad tradde but CHI is the epitome of handing out bad contracts so it's fitting in a sense
