Marleau has a skin allergy too, like Hossa, you see since Marleau has been using the same name brand skate for the last decade(injury free like you said), well that brand is no longer being made (true fact, not joking) so now Marleau can't play hockey comfortably so he goes on LTIR. Also, question, can you put a 35+ contract on LTIR for cap relief? I'm not sure that you can. The whole point of that clause is so that guy is on the cap, literally no matter what. Bob McKenzie famously said that if Tim Thomas were abducted by aliens, he would still be on the cap, so can LTIR be used? I'm not so sure.
