Many people do opposite either so no problem there. IMO that is the fair deal. Kappy is easily the best winger on Oilers and Larsson is easily paired with Rielly right away, Helps both teams greatly.

Doesn't help Toronto's cap, but player value is right.

Of course Toronto fans will counter with Brown for a 2nd or 3rd...

I would say a solid second line winger. If we are talking the Leafs then I would rather have Andreas Johnsson over Kapanen.

oh yeah, definitely meets both teams organizational needs!!

But, who replaces Larsson in EDM on the right side? Just feels like EDM would be filling one hole but creating another.

And I am a strong believer that an RHD is more valuable than a winger.

No. Kappy for Larsson. Both have positive and negative intangibles to them. I feel that Kappy for Larsson straight up is a fair deal for both sides.

I think that Kapanen for Larsson straight up is right on value and addresses the on-ice needs of both teams. The problem is that it is effectively a cap-neutral exchange and any move Toronto makes has to have a cap-positive net. This trade would make trading Kadri and Zaitsev, or Nylander, imperative. Your second effort at this (including Kadri for Puljujarvi and a second) is an excellent realization of this problem.
