Columbus declines. We don’t want to go to this years draft. So no need for more picks.

Also I have a hard time trading Wennberg in division with how he’s still somewhat young and has show that he can put up points, even if he hasn’t done it for a few years.

I actually like this team and trades in theory but there is no way we'd get Wennberg that cheap. Probably a bit much to give up for Trouba too since I don't see where WPG's leverage to get Wade/2nd added is coming from. Straight swap makes more sense for both sides.

He's been scratched for most the playoffs and is paid $4.9m. If Torts isn't going to play him I think you'll take the best offer to move on from him after a poor regular season. No team doesn't want to be at the draft tears of joy

Plenty of teams will be in on Trouba, I'm not sure a straight swap makes more sense but I am certain that you'd have to outbid someone else offering at least Ghost value. A second round pick and a player who might not sign with us anyway isn't a steep additional cost.

It is when you look at Skinner and ROR deals and realize you are giving away just under the value it would cost to add them. Maybe a straight swap isn't completely fair but like I said, they aren't going to win a Trouba trade and if teams aren't offering NHL equivalent of Ghost why would WPG take picks or prospects? Ghost at a cheaper cost and signed long term plus the immediate help to prolong the cup window would be very enticing imo.
