Maybe if they buy into the “he’s friends with Hart thing”. I think they should keep Elliott over Talbot as he wasn’t very good in Philly. The Talbot/Hart thing is overblown tons of NHLers are friends and train together

Looks really good, I think that Talbot stays around with Hart, that cap is tight tight tight, I think moving Czarnik for picks and putting Dube (who I think is a better player) opens it up a touch, I also think that Tkachuk will get just a little more, that Zucker move is great on paper and adds a really nice dimension, it's just hard making a move that increases our cap as opposed to decreasing. Really like the roster here though!

Elliot's injury history is too risky, and it was a small sample size for Talbot. Aside from the Dallas game where he was left out to dry, he had a .911 save% overall. Fine for a backup. Either way, we're just arguing about a backup lol.

I like the Wild trade, I'd be happy with that move.

Not sure we'd get a 2nd for Frolik at the deadline but a 3rd or 4th doesn't seem to be too far out of line. I'd still be happy with that!

Frolik is 30-40 point guy perennially and as we all know the Deadline is Silly Season, GMs get wreckless. My thought process is that if the oft-injured Johansson went for a 2nd as did Boyle, then I think frolik will, he also boasts a cup ring which some contenders covet

You might be right, although on the Wild I can't see us putting him in a 3rd line role where he should be since we already have a surplus of wingers. So basically in a 4th line role I doubt he reaches 30-40 points with us.

Unfortuantely no.. the organization has very little faith in him, he saw next to no action down the stretch, they even played Valimaki over him in the playoffs.

He's currently behind these guys on the left side;
Giordano
Hanifin
Valimaki

No real chance of him being a regular anytime soon and they don't like him to play the right side

I'd love it if the leafs could pry Andersson. But I agree with you, I can't see why the flames would want to do that, unless it was a big overpay from our side

This is one of the better rosters I have seen (and that includes my attempts! haha).
Agreed Talbot might not be possible, but as a back-up plan Smith on a 1 year for $1MM isn't the worst decision and would open up some space. Rittich might sign for slightly less than that as well.
My lone concern really is Neal on that 3rd line. Backlunds would become the shutdown line, and Neal just isn't that guy. I could see Mangiapane moved up the 3rd line with Backlund and moving Bennett over the the RW side. Then Drop Neal down to 4th line and move him up if there are injuries.

I also like people keeping Fantenburg around. I thought he was a good option back there in the playoffs.
