Well Toronto says no right off the start. So there goes the "realistic" part of your title.

1) Marleau isn't waiving his NMC if he intends to play next season. It was put in place for a reason, to not be sent to a bottom dweller team.
2) Kapanen isn't being moved. Leafs are extremely high on him and are reluctant to move him at all. If they have to move a guy with a big contract, Kapanen won't be the sweetener to do so.
3) Santini isn't that great. He doesn't have much more upside than a #4-5 guy. Those are very easily replaceable.

The St.Louis one actually isn't that bad. Change the pick going to St.Louis to a 3rd with Queeneville for Fabbri and it's probably a done deal

72 points in 155 NHL games, Quenneville 5 points in 33 games. Both 23 yo. Pick one...

change of scenery can do wonders.. Queeneville could explode with actual playing time. Fabbri's injury history causes red flags to pop up every where

Not saying these trades are good, but kap is very likely to be traded, no way you can afford to keep him. Very likely. Use your head kiddo

in no particular order: Zaitsev, Marleau, Kadri, Hyman, Brown... there's a handful of players that are far more likely to be moved than Kapanen. He most likely signs a 2 year bridge deal under at no more than $3-$3.5M max which is very manageable under the cap. So yes, there's actually many ways to afford him.

Check your head "kiddo". LOL

You literally just explained why Marleau wont be traded. Nobody wants zaitsev at all, brow has no value. So kap is likely if you want anything in return. Kap is quite likely trade. In a few years after you have aged a bit rejoin the site, but for now go to bed little guy, its passed your bed time

you read your own comment? congrats.

Or you just think you know everything and everyone else doesn't "kiddo". A player that has offensive upside and has shown it in the AHL producing at a high level (Queeneville) and a 3rd round pick for a guy that has shown to have difficulty putting it together when he does play and has had a long list of injury concerns dating back to his junior hockey days (Fabbri).. the market isn't exactly sky rocketing for a guy like Fabbri. Change of scenery and playing opportunities do wonders for guys, Queeneville could definitely play the same role as Fabbri who's currently on the 4th line. 6 points in 32 games this season isn't hard to match. & if you wanna sit in your parents basement in front of your screen and say that "Fabbri is worth more cause of his potential" well then getting Queeneville and a 3rd would actually save St.Louis money when they have to re-sign them anyways. So St. Louis is getting a player that could very well get 6 points in 32 games, plus a 3rd that would be on a cheaper contract due to less NHL time and has less injury concern, for 1 player that has multiple injury concerns and hasn't produced when he was in the lineup and is currently only playing 4th line minutes..

So get your head outta your ass and actually learn something about hockey. Cause you clearly don't know as much as you think you do "kiddo". LMAO

Little gapher is all steamed up. If you say the same dumb point 10 times it's not all of a sudden right. It's actually dumber. The fact that you believe anything you have said shows your lack of knowledge. No use arguing with duds like you.

... can't read either? I said Marleau doesn't waive if he INTENDS to play next season. Maybe he chooses to retire, that makes the contract very trade-able then. You're just talking out your ass more when you say that no one wants Zaitsev, Toronto had talks at the deadline about moving him and he improved his value with his playoff performance so there is teams out there that see him as an option. He's not that bad, maybe if you actually watched him play and didn't just read whatever the media writes, you'd actually say something smart. Brown is a former 20 goal scorer that can kill penalties, skate well, and play anyway in the lineup, plus he's on a cheap deal where he expires as a RFA, that's a very very easily moveable contract.

Yet again you've proved how little you really know. Mommy and Daddy should be telling you to log off their computer now. Maybe they shouldn't have dropped you on your head so much, you might actually have something smart to say then. LOL. goodbye.

You seemed to have also forgotten about Kadri and Hyman.. both easily moveable contracts for good players. So yet again, you know nothing about what you're talking about. LOL tears of joy

Look at the whole picture.
They need two D men at the bottom bc Hainsey and Gard are FAs. Marners not going anywhere. Maybe Kadri. They are going to have to up some shiny toy for someone to take on $. Johnsson said no to a two yr deal at $2.1 KK is younger and better right now so it's closer to 4. Cap may not go up as much bc big market teams got bounced this yr
Tor is going to have to do something they won't like. At least they can take care of there bottom D. Otherwise they look at Marlies and that make them as strong.

I'd add MMs rights along with SS, and promise Marleau a move back to SJ while eating half salary.
Add a pick to SJ and grab Labanc
