Edmonton needs to get rid of Lucic to make more cap room. Not take cap room away by taking on Ericsons contract. This also leaves Vancouver under the league minimum for salary cap.

Not sure what you mean here. Eriksson and Lucic both have $6M cap hits. Eriksson just has 2 less years left on his deal.

Edmonton needs cap relief. Taking on Erickson's contract gives them no cap relief.

Actually he only has one year less not two. Lucic has 4 years left, Eriksson has 3

They'd only have to pay him for two seasons after 19-20, which is better than paying Lucic until 2023. Eriksson also is more of an effective player than Lucic.

Neither of them are effective at the salary which they are being payed. Lucic at least provides grit and some protection for McDavid.

Your fighting is just so irrelevant. Neither of these teams will win Stanley. Ever. Nope. Never. Sorry. Never EVER going to happen.

I don't see enough incentive for either side to do this trade (Lucic for Erickson).
The only advantages for Edmonton in getting Erickson are:
1) Erickson does not have a NMC which free's up a protection spot for the Seattle Expansion Draft.
2) One less year on term.
3) The last year of his contract could be bought out as it has a much lower Signing bonus ($1M) versus $3M that Lucic has in last year.

But for Vancouver, I just don't see an incentive for them to want to do this.

Just guessing that Ericsson's "don't trade me to list" includes Edmonton.
