Good luck convincing Trouba to accept $7 million per, He's seeking closer to $8 million per over 7 years.

You and I literally just had this conversation in my last post. Where you said he thought he was worth Ekman-Larsson money, despite the fact he doesn't put up Ekman-Larsson numbers. $7M is more in his range, whether he likes it or not.

And i pretty much agreed with what you said, But bottom line if he made it to UFA. You and i both know that he will get at least $7.5 million if not closer to $8 million just because there will be high bidding on him.

Then he can sign a 1 year RFA deal for less and wait for Free Agency. Anyone who trades for him this Summer is looking to lock him up Long term right away. There is no bidding war this year. Winnipeg will be bidding on the best trade package for him, but that's it. If he wants everyone to go in a frenzy over him, he will just sign for his last RFA year for less and then go into Free Agency like Panarin is this year. No one is bidding on him this year.

That's what i mean? He signs a one year deal this year. And heads to UFA next summer in 2020 and teams bid for his services. I agree that's the only way he gets big money that he's seeking as a UFA.

I don't think any team will be willing to trade assets for him unless they are locking him up long term. So if Winnipeg wants to roll the dice and sign him to a one year deal, they'll be the only ones to do it.

Think these are all great swaps but I just can't help but feel we could get at least another prospect or pick in that Kreider deal.

I am working my way down. I initially had Kreider and the Stars pick (if they made it to the WCF) to move down to the Panthers pick. Now the Panthers pick by itself. I am working under the perception of Kreider as a rental. So perhaps a Conditional Pick could be added (if he resigns) on top of the 1st.

I was working under the assumption of a team locking him up Long term. If that's what he wants, then fine. Not only will the Rangers avoid of him, but it will ward off other teams, too. Probably lessen the compensation the Jets could get, also.

I don't know. If a team is eager enough to trade for him, and offer him a $50M deal (7 years for $7M to $7.15M), I think he puts his delusions aside and puts pen to paper. Starts looking like a real Jack ass if he turns down that much money.

I like this a lot. One suggestion is to trade Vesey instead of Strome.

Agreed, I was a huge fan of Strome when he came over. Brings a lot to the team and can play in all sorts of different situations.

I've traded Vesey in practically every other post. Just based on the way these trades worked out, we needed someone at LW on the 3rd line. Not sure if Strome plays on the Left, or if they would allow Andersson to play Left instead of C. If either of them could, then yes, I would move Vesey instead of Strome, and put him or Andersson at LW.

Quinn can manage the lines. As armchair gm, your duty is to keep the best players and that’s why you keep Strome and release Vesey.

I'm hoping that this summer (if they are to trade him) a team has a deal in place to sign him long term. Would drive up the price from only a first to possibly an extra pick and roster player.

Regardless, it is probably the most pressing question surrounding the team leading up to the draft.

Absolutely. With both Kravtsov and Kakko now on the horizon (which increases the possibility of getting Panarin, as well), Kreider no longer has a future here.
