Lol, trying to get Vegas to bite on this trade with McPhee's son?

Haula and Eakin actually have some value. AHL D and a random prospect isn't enough to cut it.

That's no random prospect lol - that's former VGK GM, now Vegas' president of Hockey Operations, George McPhee's son.

I'd be okay with the Pysyk trade, but both Florida and Russell would have to be okay with it too. If the GM could manage that trade with the Panthers then I see Benning becoming expendable by the next trade deadline.

Lucic for Eriksson needs to be straight up, at the very least. Lucic offers at least indirect intangibles to the Canucks (protection for Petterson, Boeser, Hughes et al.) ... Eriksson offers nothing that the Oilers don't already have, over-paid and under-performing veterans. The only reason I can see Edmonton making that trade would be to reduce its $6,000,000 commitment by one year, and I'm not sure that is enough to do the deal.

Vegas may want to move Eakin and Haula, but are likely to get a better offer elsewhere.

What do you think is fair value for Haula and Eakin?

Here's a bit of a write-up from last August (likely bias as it was written by the Edmonton Journal):

"Skating and shooting are two major assets for McPhee. He has a good first step and reaches top speed quickly; one of the rare prospects in our system that has the ability to beat a defender to the outside with speed. He combines that skating with a lethal shot. He has a quick, accurate shot and loves to use it. He averaged just under two shots per game, but that rate was nearly three per game in the last quarter of his season. McPhee lead the Eagles with a 17% shooting percentage, which may be a cause for concern, but my response to that argument is always, “Well, maybe he’s just a good shooter.”

Maybe the most projectable aspects of McPhee’s game are his physical, north-south style and PK ability. He combines tireless work ethic and skating to pressure the opposition. At 5-on-5 or on the PK, McPhee can make the opposition pay for a turnover."

Interesting tactic lol - baiting them to a better offer with the former GM's relative.

2nd round pick+ for both I'd say. Hard to say what's Haula's value since he was out pretty much the whole season with an injury.

Well, they are two slightly undersized NHL forwards, likely pretty solid middle six (probably 3rd-line) players. Eakin plays like a buzz saw, Haula is a decent penalty killer.

By comparison, Manning cleared waivers last season, nobody wanted him when he could have been had for free and McPhee managed 3 goals and six assists, and was -7 in 29 games, playing his third season at Boston College. McPhee has another year at Boston College, and at this point it looks like Witchita or Bakersfield could be as far as he gets with the Oilers organization. I could be wrong, but even if he makes the NHL, he looks like he'll be a bottom-six player, at best.

I don't know what George McPhee can get for Cody Eakin and Erik Haula, but his track record suggests he is a good GM and should be able to get more than what you've proposed.

What does George McPhee/Kelly McCrimmon get for Eakin and Haula when the team is over the Salary Cap by $4MM and needs to sign William Karlsson AND become compliant before the start of next season?

That's the key....
