Description
Just some thoughts.

I think Point could get a bridge deal at a lower cost that would also allow him to test the UFA market in a few years though. No way he gets Stamkos/Kucherov money just yet. Especially after his drop-off towards the end of the season and a no-show in the playoffs.

Callahan will either be moved in a deal like this one or bought out, or maybe both. Could be like a Brooks Orpik deal where the other team buys him out and resigns with Tampa for cheap.

There could be more moves made, but I think it's being saved for next summer with the expansion draft before signing Vasy.

Any extra money I think will either be used for a depth forward such as I brought back Boyle, or Paquette will be resign for a year and resign a defenceman short term for cheap such as Girardi or Coburn. Ideally Stralman, but I think he's gonna be asking too much money and term for it to be a fit.

If point gets a deal to allow him to test the ufa market it is by definition no longer a bridge deal.

Not a bad idea but it all hinges on point taking a 2 year deal at a liw cap hit.

From you that's funny. LOL. Bridge contracts are a thing still. A couple of players have absolutely ruined them for the league, but they're still a thing. This would be a win-win for both sides. Point would get a huge raise after this deal since the salary caps always rising, either from Tampa or another team on the UFA market, and Tampa gets to keep him on an arguably lower salary for a couple of seasons.

I'm just curious to know who hurt you in your childhood to the point where you feel the need to be toxic and condescending to strangers on the internet. Not sure you realize how pathetic this looks.

Actually not an Ottawa fan, but you just furthered my point. Why do you enjoy being a D so much? For forum censoring purposes, I don't mean defenseman.

Don't you get tired of being so negative?

Do you think he'll aim for an 8 year deal? Reports confirmed he and his agent were(are) open to all possibilities of term, as they know Tampa is in some sort of cap crunch.
