The player we will get at 8OA will probably be better then Drouin so no need to trade it for this deal.

You won’t get Drouin’s talent with that pick.
I actually thought I was selling low on Drouin.
The guy’s talent is off the roof.
He can execute plays at a speed the vast majority of NHL players can’t.
The problem is he doesn’t fit with Julien’s style of play.
Alongside McDavid it could be a scary duo.
On that note, i’m Taking out Mtl’s 2nd

It is certainly possible that Krebs or Kaliyev could someday be as good as Drouin, but the Oilers don't really have time and, besides, the Oilers have shown remarkably adept at drafting Paajarvis, Yakupovs and Puljujarvis. That's three blown top-10 picks in a decade. At least with Drouin, you'd have a pretty good idea of what you're getting and he'd be able to help in 2019-20.

I doubt you'd have to give that much for Fowler. The Habs 15th and a decent prospect (Evans, McCarron, Jacob Olofsson) would likely do. They need cap space and Fowler isn't ahead of Lindholm anymore, so he's an expensive second-pairing D. He'd be a top-pair D in Montreal, which might be enough to have him waive his NMC.

Drouin has only proven that he is a 20 goal- 50 point player and that was with 2 teams so far. I don’t see him as guy who’s “talent is off the roof” type player. I disagree that there is no one with his talent at the 8OA slot. I would take Boldy, Zegras or Caufield any day over Drouin. Caufield has the talent to get as many goals a year as Drouin does in overall points!

I agree he would help right away but if I am trading the 8 OA pick it will be for someone more reliable than a streaky player in Drouin.

Cam Fowler has a 4 team trade list, Can guarantee you Montreal isn't one of those 4 teams.
