You really are undervalueing Leafs players.. Kadri alone would get more.

Slight undervalue perhaps, but from reports I've heard on NHL network and TSN and on several podcasts, the Leafs management is fed up with Kadri after his suspension in the playoffs and would be looking to off load him, probably at a discount. Plus the Leafs cap situation is screwed. Let's be real, no one's gonna take on Marleau, especially at that number, and Zaitsev has no value in a trade. Plus, BOTH have no trade clauses.
Could beef up the trade with another pick or prospect for sure.

NTC on Zaitsev is coming up from July 1st so I think from Marleau, Kadri, Brown, Zaitsev.. he is least probably in going out. There are already reports of Marleau being moved on July 2nd and those days due to the bonus. West coast teams he would agree to because his kids from what Ive heard are going to school in San Jose in September and his family is moving back there so I think he would be traded and play. Probably even for San José. Like.. Leafs would eat up like 2mil or 1mil and figure out a move where another team eats a bit of salary as well like Vegas did with brassard trade to Pens. I think something would be figured but I dont see Marleau being in Leafs uniform next year. He would play tho. And Leafs would pay up to get him out for sure but it is possible. Kadri is still very valuable player. Worth at least a 1st round pick.

Oh yeah? I hadn't heard this. I was actually hearing that it sounded like Marleau had no intention of retiring, and I just assumed that means he's a leaf next year.

Do you have a source for these rumblings, Sammy? If Marleau is gone next year that could save alot of headache..

Gardiner's not signing for $3M anywhere and this team is arguably worse than the 2018-19 Leafs so can't see why Leafs would want to go this route. Leafs may be disenchanted with Kadri but they still aren't going to give away a 2 time 30 goal scorer who is 28 with three years left at an incredibly team friendly contract.

Also where did Travis Dermott go ?

Not sure Gardiner gets but it's certainly going to be more than $3M.

He's left handed and his back problems are a real issue going forward, also he's a 50 point defenceman once, his average the past 6 years is 35 points. His possession numbers are good but his risk/reward style is a bit polarizing. That said the UFA dman pool is notoriously thin so maybe he gets $6M
