As the regular season comes to a close, we want to announce that we will be issuing stat corrections at the end of the year. The purpose of this is to prevent teams that have deliberately iced their weakest lineups benefit from tanking. This includes teams that have injured players in their lineup that do not score in that given month, players who are not on NHL rosters being scored, prospects not being called up, etc. Any team that is determined to benefit more from having a weaker lineup than a stronger one, will be subject to these corrections. Below is a rough estimate of our procedure.

- Any player that is in the lineup and not did not play in that given scoring period will be removed. Healthy scratches and players in the minors who did score during that period will fill the openings.
- The scoring style will be adjusted to “Balanced” for teams that have multiple openings to keep the line multiplier constant.
- If there is a player who does not score and is above others in the lineup, we will bump those players up one line and have a healthy scratch / player in minor / prospect fill the opening spot. We will not adjust the scoring style if we are only bumping players.
- We will only fill the lineup, healthy scratch positions will not be filled.

More information will come out as we wrap up the regular season. We anticipate some movement with the bottom-10 teams and their lottery placement.

Since we're now paying players according to their ceilings, my RFA extentions have been retroactively updated:

Rasmus Dahlin: $10,000,000 x 2 (RFA expiry)
Kailer Yamamoto: $6,250,000 x 3 (RFA expiry)

UDFA cant be signed in gm game. kiersted will be part of the UDFA draft.

So we have to wait 1 full year for UDFAs that have already signed?
Or could we have 2 UDFA drafts throughout the year?

UDFA's don't sign until after NCAA seasons wrap up which usually happens in the last month of the NHL regular season. We are also right around 30-32 UDFAs that are eligible for a draft so having it now and waiting for another wave doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I mean UDFAs are available once any of their seasons end. CHL/NCAA/Liiga/SHL/KHL...
Normally, we have done a UDFA draft after our IRL draft + allow UDFA signings throughout the year.

I am unsure as to why we couldn't just run two UDFA periods throughout the year. Have one large one after normal draft, then a secondary UDFA window to get players that A) weren't available during the initial window, or B) weren't selected in the original window.

The current plan is to have one after the Entry Draft and as close to the start of the regular season as possible. We don't anticipate there being enough UDFAs signed after the Entry Draft and before the start of the season to warrant two UDFA drafts. We'll just have the UDFA draft maybe 2-4 weeks before the regular season and that will encompass the vast majority of UDFAs. Anyone who wasn't selected during that draft should be eligible to be claimed on waivers immediately.

When would the cut-off happen then going forward? Like say a player becomes eligible two weeks into the season, can he be eligible to be claimed from waivers? Or is it only players who have gone through at least one UDFA period, become available on waivers?

The goal of having the udfa draft so close to regular season is to encompass as many as possible. Then when regular season starts, any udfa from that period that went unsigned (reg season game 1 to udfa draft) will be eligible to be signed via waivers. Any NEW udfa after the draft wont be eligible until after the next draft occurs. Hard to make a elc signing be required for waiver signings in our eyes. Shouldnt be a waiver order or first come first serve type thing with these players.

. We should be able to achieve 100% voting from this group of gm's. If you dont want to vote or are too lazy to care you will be replaced in the offseason with someone who does.

#15 Vegas Golden Knights at #2 Carolina Hurricanes

In a surprising midweek interaction, the Vegas GM seemed to verbally concede this matchup between the re-tooling Golden Knights and the Canes. If it was a puzzling move then, it shouldn’t be puzzling anymore, as Carolina absolutely gobsmacked the Golden Yikes. Fans spent more time arguing about who the number one defenseman is on the Canes than debating who will win the series. The voting in this series was the most lopsided of any in the 1st round, 79/29. VGK got some puck luck in games 1 and 4, but ultimately failed to come away with a single victory. Canes in 3... err 4.

Game 1: CAR 4-3, Buchnevich GWG
Game 2: CAR 5-0, Vatrano GWG
Game 3: CAR 4-1, Buchnevich GWG
Game 4: CAR 3-2 OT, Aho GWG

CAR vote % 78.5%
CAR single game win % 100.0%
CAR series win % 100.0%

That went exactly how I expected it to go tears of joy

Raif is right, but by the time I noticed it was too late. Should have been Colorado at home for games 1 and 2. The simulation was run properly, only the commentary was inaccurate. Thanks for reading!
