My best friend is a Habs fan, and I brought up a Drouin for Kessel Trade, and we both agreed we’d be down for something along the lines of that

It’s not an awful contract at all lol. An awful contract is Seabrook. Hornqvist contract is alright. Chicago probably wouldn’t take it, but other teams certainly will.

He is signed 4 years too long and is already 33 how on earth is that a good contract? You dont pay power forwards that much and for that long Hornqvist is gonna be Backes/Lucic level bad and has already shown signs of that already. He isnt a line driver, he is constantly injured (along with concussion concerns), he is a ticking timebomb and I feel bad for the idiot that ends up stuck with him. He isnt a top 6 player anymore

he had one off year. he's certainly not on backes/lucic level. I never said its a "good" contract, but he can still be a 20+ goal, 50 point guy thats a physical presence for another few seasons. maybe by the last year he'll fall off, but he'll be fine for the next few seasons. hes still certainly a top 6 guy

He is 33 he isnt going to be a 50 pt player forever with how he plays. You dont keep players like Hornqvist that long you can bet he is going to be rough and already is a 30 pt player away from Sid. He isnt that good

Just like what you said about Matt Murray smile
I agree I want hornqvist off Pittsburgh. I wasn’t a fan of that contract and it will turn into a bad one, but he’s certainty not untradable. I’m confident he won’t be a Pen next season. If he is, he’ll get 20-25 goals, 45-55 points.

Only if he is shoe horned into playing with Sid.

We going to pretend that Murray wasnt hot garbage for half the season? He literally was bottom 5 in all statistics for a decent chunk of the season lmao

Cause he was playing with an underlying injury lol. Since coming back from injury he was one of the best goalies in the leauge. Would’ve been in Vezina contention had it not been for the first 13 games or whatever.

Being durable matters lol you cant give an award over a hot streak. Also ignoring that Halak, Greiss, Lehner, Bishop, Vasilevski, Binnington, Rinne, Price, Andersen, and Gibson have all been UNDISPUTEDLY better. You cant blame an injury on Murray having the worst stats in the league for half a season when he is always getting injured.

Lmao you’re funny. Not even gonna waste time arguing. How to prove you’re clueless: Anderson had a bad end to the season and price had a bad start. So you’re argument doesn’t work.

He had 10 bad games. Guys get into cold stretches, it happens. What he did after December 15 was incredible

Been a fan since 2017 and you still cant differentiate between Craig Anderson and Fredrik Andersen shows how much you know right there mr. expert.

Unlike Murray Price and Andersen actually play a starters work load and they have both actual past successes while also never had a large portion of the season sucking like Glass bones Murray. You are comparing two goalies who consistently plays 60+ games consistently to a goalie who cant even get above 50 GP. It has been two seasons in a row now where Murray had long stretches of being less reliable than 2012 Fleury you cant just call it a cold streak when he spends half the season being a bottom 5 goalie.

May be a hard thing to grasp but consistency matters but then again you were also dumb enough to think Jack Johnson was good so that already ruins any credibility you ever brought to a discussion.

#1- are you clueless. I’m clearly talking about Freddy Andersen. I spelt the name wrong. Big deal. This is the Internet. No one cares about spelling haha. I’m not wasting my time arguing this with you. I showed stats to prove how good Murray is and you have no solid argument. Half the season as a bottom 5 goalie? It was 10 games looool. Just quit the argument bud. I’ll give you the injury argument but that doesn’t mean he sucks lol. A lot of players deal with injuries. Doesn’t mean they’re bad. When Murray is healthy he’s a top goalie in this league. End of argument

And FYI I never once said JJ was good. He’s a pylon. Idk where you’re pulling that from

Considering they are very different goalies I would suggest its important to know the difference otherwise you look like a fool from the very get go.

You said JJ is better than Shattenkirk, you said playing with Marcus Pettersson has morphed him into a solid bottom pairing guy (lol at even saying that)

Meanwhile on Murray if you have spent a good 40 games being ass garbage the last two seasons and consistently have been injured for 3 straight years you lose the benefit of the doubt. Let him play 60 GOOD games before overrating him he wasnt in any vezina talks for a reason nor will he ever likely be.

Cant stay healthy, never consistent, one of the worst gloves in the league, worst goals saved above average rate in the post season (Natural stat trick), 18th in high danger saves and that is factoring in goalies like Crawford, Bishop, Ward, among other notable goalies having 10-15 less high danger saves while all playing 10+ less games. Murray was 24th in high danger sv% which is the best way to actually measure how great a goalie is stopping the hardest shots that are usually sure goals. Numbers dont back Murray being elite lmao he is closer to a system goalie than he is a top 5-10 goalie he wasnt even better than Cam Ward lmao in HDsv%

#1- I didn’t say that. I said I could see rangers making a dumb trade for JJ. Whatever, we’ve all said dumb things on here. I’ll own it. I never said he was better than shatty lol.

I showed you the tweet so everything you said is complete BS haha. His stats since coming back from injury are great. Anyways, I’m not wasting my night arguing my stats against yours. I spent time looking for an article by GunnerStaal on all of Matt Murray’s advance stats since coming back from injury but I can’t find it and hockeybuzz is awful and I can’t find old articles; so whatever. Idc what some clueless hawks fan says about Matt Murray. Whatever helps you sleep at night lol

The only stat that matters when evaluating goalies is their high danger sv%...
