Yeah he’s brutal. BUT someone will take him for a late rounder. Especially if someone like ZAR is involved too.

Including a meh 4th liner doesnt move the needle Johnson is an overpaid D that shouldnt be in the league

Do you really think the Pens would have signed him for 3.25 for 5 years if NO ONE else was interested in him? If that was the case they would have offered him 750k per. If Rutherford said "Hey, we have too many D. Who wants JJ for late pick. We`ll throw in a guy who lit up the scoresheet in college and has scored at nearly a PPG clip in AHL as a sweetener...

Multiple teams would bite. Thinking otherwise is the popular thought process on here but its not realistic. If I ran a team I wouldn't do it. But this is definitely a move that is possible.

the JJ contract isn't THAT bad to need to throw in more to get rid of. Also ZAR played a lot of LW. He isn't somebody stuck on RW.
