hard to see why they signed this kid off his stats. Not much production there. Roster spot is probably better used on a NCAA or CHL free agent.

Plus their is less scoring in the SHL based off your logic no one would ever be signed out of Sweden

The word is, Soderlund's game is better suited for NA hockey. He has great speed and quickness along with a great work ethic. He is hard nosed in battles along the boards and near the net. All of which are elements that don't stand out on the larger ice in Europe. He's still young so won't be an NHLer right now but Rockford needs forward depth and this will help them while evaluating/developing him on NA ice.
