Hawks are trading down if they're taking Turcotte. Podkolzin seems to be a lock at 3.

How about Keith-Joki, McNabb-Murphy, Gus-Seabs? Also, I think Podkolzin has been trending down on draft boards. Cozens, Turcotte, and Byram have been in the conversation for 3. I think he could be great but if he’s 2 years out then the Hawks may not want to wait/risk it.

Listening to the hawks talk podcasts over the past couple weeks I've heard they wouldn't have trouble bringing him over to the NHL, even with his KHL situation. McNabb-Murphy is two defensive minded guys,, which didn't make sense to me and why I put Gus with Murph.

I get it but I think they’re looking for a shutdown pairing for defensive zone starts, basically a better Dahlstrom to play with Murphy. Then Gus and Seabs for more offensive zone starts with Gus getting all the power play minutes. Podkolzin would be interesting for sure, hopefully if they draft him he’s in North America next year.

Podkolzin is a perfect Hossa replacement, which is why I can see them being so interested in him. That is a good point, similar to the Hjalmarsson Oduya pairing years ago.

Podkozlin is far from a lock at #3. Turcotte, Byram, Cozens and Dach are all in discussion at 3.

If you are referring to what Pat Boyle says; take it with a big grain of salt.

Agree, highly doubt that gets McNabb. Great idea Nick but not enough assets.

Turcotte is the 3rd best forward in this draft, Podkolzin is not a top 5 talent, the mainstream media hasn't come around on this yet and if he "drops" at the draft it will be perceived as a shock when it really won't be. first team i can see Podkolzin going to is LA at 5 but not top 4

Considering Vegas is looking to dump cap, it is not the worst deal, but yes probably not enough.

Considering he is only 2.5 mil and can play 20 minutes a night, they will be looking to dump other players. That is a good contract and term for McNabb.

Podkolzin has appeared in the 15-20 range in two final rankings today. I see him going in the 10-15 range, certainly not at 3. Hawks are going Turcotte or Byram, book it.

oh yeah for sure, I really don't think he's that good. I just meant the only team in the top 10 i could see taking him would be LA based on how they've drafted lately. Turcotte and Byram are going 3 and 4 for sure
