Not really. Kappy and Johnson had similar seasons, why is their contracts so different? Also Pesce and Miller moves don't really work, and Marner's too cheap.

The Canes wouldn't accept that deal for Pesce, his contract is too good, and he's a legit top pair RHD. The Leafs trading Muzzin to Carolina doesn't solve any of their problems, and doesn't really fix many of the leafs'. Plus, them retaining in this scenario just seems a bit ridiculous

Asking for retention is a joke.

The return isn't close. Pretty much ask Carolina what they want and wait for the 'ands' to stop. Muzzin wouldn't be one of the 'ands'.
