This is Boston. I'd be surprised if he even got a call.
I'd drop dead if he got more than a game

It was a hockey play with no injury caused. No priors. 1 game or max fine.

Miller is done for the year. Moore in if Mac is out

For a change, I disagree with you.

I can think of a LOT of people I'd rather have drop dead if McAvoy gets 2 games.

It should be a max fine instead of a suspension.

Do you think it deserves more than a game? I agree that it deserves a game

IMO...it's a hockey play: The puck is loose and in the feet - Anderson checks thine feet as McAvoy comes across to negate him. McA lays the body on JA's chin that's basically in his "belly-button" as he puts his head down to find the biscuit.
I know it's not the 80's, but the #1 rule in hockey to this day (from pee wee to old-timers) = keep-your-head-up-jackass!!

That’s no longer a hockey play, direct target of the head, and mcavoy didn’t let up or play the puck. He saw his shot and he took it.

It’s still a hockey play. Hockey play implies it happens in the course of normal play. It wasn’t a cheap shot, he just got the head. No malicious intent, but I still think a game is fine

What I don’t understand is one series there’s coincidentally contact into a 5 min penalty, and next series there’s a direct targeting hit to the head and it turns into a 2 min penalty, same rubber chicken on the ice, but one has less blood

He saw his shot and he took it, caught a player unprotected position and knocked his head off, no jump, no charge, but timing perfect. First contact was head, exact hit that purist want to remain, but the people trying to stop or limit concussions, need and want out

I get that and respect it. But it’s still a hockey play. If Anderson moves his head in a different direction it’s shoulder to shoulder and a great hit, hence why I think it’s a hockey play, that said it’s head to head so the bruins best player sits a game

That’s the definition of targeting, don’t get me wrong, I love the hit, old school me, but new age with more knowledge of concussions and longterm effects, I understand that side also that makes it illegal

Hey BIRT, you have your opinion I have mine, and mine says he doesn't get suspended...sometimes players get hurt and deserve it. Parros will call it a hockey play you can call him to express your valued opinion.
Comes down to minor hockey-101: Keep your head up you silly b*sturd...learned that in Atom (or was that Pee Wee)...

Nice argument, you know when somebody loses a argument, they go to name calling and random facts that aren’t really a factor at all. All I know is the refs need to get there nuts back and going upstairs has got to go or they need access whenever they want

I did not name call.
I stated THE HOCKEY FACT - keep your HEAD-UP and it was addressed to JA of CBJ

Fair enough nice chat, I am enjoying the playoffs other than the refs time on the screen, and my prediction would be a bruins sharks final.

For sure, there's definitely plays from all teams/sides that are worthy of review/suspension/overturn etc. etc, no doubt.
Unfortunately, in 10 years I think we'll spend more time reviewing than playing. Looking at the 80's NHL playoffs is a hoot as you can use your heavy wooden stick (lumber) as a pitchfork or axe and get mui praise from the fans/spectators/coaches/anal-ysts and sweet hockey mom's alike LOL!

Ya I hear ya, I think best just to give the two refs and lines full control and let it play. The alternative is so bad, the worst is the offside 2 min before the goal was scored but brought back and 10 min to figure it out. Damn I would never complain about a ref again if they got rid of the safety net replay

Just think back, if the 'puck-off-the-net' in Game 4 BOS/CBJ was really - GAME 7 DOUBLE-OT for THE CUP?
That Mikey-Mouse play would end up being THE CUP WINNER - as the rule is written right now!?
The Situation Room HAS TO BE ABLE TO INTERVENE and make the correct call!

They still got it wrong though, they need to figure it out how to get it right to a iPod and in refs hands or something, it’s a mess right now either 100 percent one way or the other and live with the refs

Exactly, there is no "Situation Room" under the current NHL format!
The 'Room' should be able to "blow-the-horn" and "call over the stripes" prior to the drop at centre and tell them they F'd up - NO GOAL...
While it did not matter in this series....What if it was for the CUP? The NHL would be laughed at for years - like the NFL's bogus Saints/Rams non-call of last season.

The nhl made it through the hull goal in 99, but ya there could be some chaos for sure, I think they should open it up also, sometimes to the refs to make the call upstairs if something doesn’t feel right to them. They got to leave the linesman out of it though, those offside call backs are more hassle than they are worth in my opinion

Mike Milbury is that you?

the league clearly picked favorites in this series. There was no logical reason he wasn't immediately ejected.
No surprise with the 400 power play attempts they were given to help them out in the series. Hell your player cross checked bob and didn't get a penalty but CBJ player crashes into him who going to the net and gets a penalty. Most one sided officiating I have seen all playoffs.
