Post-Boom Management

Description
I'm imagining what I'd do as Jarmo with this "post-boom" situation, and I am assuming that the players I was able to sign WOULD sign.

Artemi Panarin - Not interested in a return. Despite the playoff run, Panarin recieves much better offers than we can manage and departs in the off-season.

Sergei Bobrovsky - Our room is running out in the crease with the Merzlikins-Korpisalo battle for starting job, and Bob was set long ago to go to Florida.

Matt Duchene - Looking for family stability and seeing this teams bright future, I am assuming Duchene (with his recent child and clear interest in staying in Columbus) would sign here for a solid amount of cash and a solid amount of length.

  2. Senyshyn, Zach
  3. 2019 3rd round pick (BOS)
  4. 2019 7th round pick (NYR)
  5. 2020 2nd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Charlie Coyle and Boston didn't exactly work out during the regular season, and I feel the Bruins wouldn't mind taking on Wennberg's contract in return for Ryan Murray's rights. As well, we get quite a few decent picks out of the trade to "fill our coffers".
BOS
  1. Murray, Ryan [RFA Rights]
  2. Wennberg, Alexander
Additional Details:
Wennberg's past couple seasons with Columbus has been nothing short of horrendous; what was once thought to be a possible #1 centreman has devolved into a Top 9 at best forward while in Columbus, and for this reason the time to move on is now.

Dzingel has been in and out of the line up and doesn't seem to fit. I think he ends up in Chicago personally but we shall see.

I'll stand by Dzingel as a player, but he was a strange choice for CBJ, especially considering how much Torts hated Duclair. Dzingel is just a better Duclair.

I don't see CBJ re-signing Duchene because they'd have to give a first rounder to OTT if they do...

Also I don't see Bruins moving Coyle, he's been pretty good in these playoffs, and he's also relatively cheap.

That's a pretty easy no for Boston. Coyle has solidified our #3C position and while (as you say) he didn't work out in the regular season, he has 8pt in 13 playoff games. He actually has as many points as Patrice Bergeron and he's 2nd on the team in goals scored. I also don't get why Boston would want Murray's rights. They have a TON of LHD in the system and Murray struggles to play 60 games a year. Actually more I see this deal, the more I feel like Boston is getting shafted.

Coyle is better than Wennberg, but Murray probably has more value than Senyshyn (not much). So really Boston is giving up a 2nd 3rd and 7th in order to downgrade their #3C and acquire an injury prone LHD. Even though currently in the system Boston has...

That Boston trade is about as horrendous as Wennbergs play these last 2 seasons. Duchene shouldn’t be back unless he can carry the team who has not great option in net if Korpisalo or Merzlikins aren’t ready to be the number 1 thus just handing Ottawa a 1st round lottery pick. Duchene isn’t the future, it was a good run, and if Bob or even bread come back maybe it’s worth it to keep him, other wise his time in CBJ is done. Dzingle probably won’t be back, he didn’t seem to fit in Columbus.
