That’s really interesting and in a weird way it makes sense. Colorado trades their 2 picks for good players that can help them right now, while chicago gets younger with a stud Dman and a good forward (I doubt caulfield drops to 16 though) to develop and become good players during Panarin’s contract.

In a weird way, I can see this making sense for both teams. Could probably get a bit more for what you gave Colorado though, depending on when their pick ends up.

If their pick ends up being from a WCF team I would like a second as well.

2nd might be too much. I look at it this way:

Toews=4th overall
Saad =\= *28—31* + 2nd

a 3rd or multiple late picks would be a better fit

If CHI's doing this...why sign Panarin? Why not take a F ton of cap dumps and just do the rebuild? This is tearing it down....so tear it down all the way. Send Kane to Buffalo for multiple 1sts too.

I think we can agree that this never happens, but I’ll be dammed if I ever stop coming up with ridiculous trade scenarios.

Well basically no.

Edit
I think this roster is competitive. Probably won’t make the playoffs but will have many top line reinforcements coming in the next two to three years.

Oh yeah it most definitely won’t happen. But out of all the ridiculous trade ideas I’ve ever seen, this one has the most logic behind it ?

I agree with you. While the Blackhawks are never moving Jonathan Toews, Brandon Saad has really disappointed me in his return to Chicago. I think the value is there, it's just the realism aspect that is lacking. I love the idea though, of getting 2 more first round picks. Maybe something like Saad, Gustafsson, 2020 2nd round pick, and Entwistle or another one of Chicago's better Forward prospects?
