i just went with a very probable scenario of GMBM not qualifying him, him checking around in FA, not getting much and then coming back to the Caps (he has said he really likes being on this team and the city, fans, etc...) for this deal.

But, what this roster example shows is that the Caps can't really do much to improve the team unless they trade a big salary away...kind of depressing. i think they need to make some changes/improvments of some sort to compete for the cup next year, not just assume they will be right in it again.

Problem is you're a $1mm over the cap with the overages from this year. And that's including only having one extra forward.

So it looks kind of obvious that they need to move out salary. We should expect a trade or two from BMac.
