3 Trades 3 UFAs

Created by: hawksfan88
Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: May 8, 2019
Published: May 8, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade 1: Idk if it's just me but Gus to Toronto makes perfect sense. For TOR they get a highly skilled dman on a cheap deal during Marleau's last year of contract

Trade 2: Is Montreal still looking for a middle 6 C? I would move AA and a 2nd if MON is willing to eat a bit of Shaw's salary and get some grit back in the process

Trade 3: With other moves, Perlini becomes expendable and we would need another center. Wonder what the value on Copp is but seems like a good fit

UFA 1: Gardiner would essentially replace Gus and we would get the cost certainty by locking him up long-term instead of Gus playing on a contract year. Not sure if we would pay more than 5x5 though

UFA 2: Dzingel would be a perfect fit for the top 6 assuming he'll sign for under 5

UFA 3: I'm also 100% confident Stan is gonna sign Ben Lovejoy. Very good bottom pair guy and can hopefully provide a stable 3rd line with Seabrook and help the PK

EXTENSIONS
With these moves above and salary coming off the books we should have enough to sign Strome and DeBrincat. My best guesses would be 5x5.5 for Strome and 8x7.5 for DeBrincat. If we are real close to the cap, next offseason would probably be the time to trade Murphy and make way for Boqvist and other youngsters and then maybe trade one of Copp/Kampf and one of Kahun/Caggiula

Shaw was a top 6 winger for us last year and Anisimov at most would a top 3C for us behind KK and Domi plus maybe even Poehling. So maybe a 4C. Bottomline, we need wingers more than centers

Both Jake Gardiner and Ryan Dzingel are way underpaid, Try more like Jake Gardiner 6 x 6.5 and Ryan Dzingel 5 x 5.5 both will get paid handsomely on the open market.

Gustafsson isn't something that would interest TO I'd wager. He had a good season on the PP but he's not good defensively and won't get as much PP time in TO with Rielly getting the Lions share of time.
