Tough choice but I might be in the minority who thinks Petersson will be better than Hughes.

I agree, but for any team to acquire the 2nd pick they're gonna have to give up a lot.

I know, what I meant is that they probably won't do this trade just to team the Hughes brothers together. Especially when they already have a better player than Jack.

Also most likely, Jack is going 1st overall. If the Rangers really wanted Elias, it might be Kakko and the WIN 1st. Canucks would not include their own first.

the reason the rangers traded stepan and raanta for #7 is that the highest pettersson was ranked was 10th. They thought he would still be available and since he wasn't they balked and took andersson. they were VERY high and them and i think everyone can see why. rangers have good european scouts, Kravtsov looks like a steal at 9 last year

Yea Andersson was not the reason they traded up, that's for sure. They were high on him but they had their sights set on Pettersson.

Rags already have goalies in the system. Shesterkin, Georgiev, Lindbom, and Huska. Don't think they would want to add another.

If it were Boeser, Horvat, and their 2019 1st I think there would be more consideration there.

Never said he would be. But the intrigue and marketing potential of having another set of brothers in Canucks unis has got to be tempting for them.

Maybe NYR 1st (#2) and WPG 1st (#20) for Pettersson

I get it though, Pettersson is about as untouchable as it gets

Vancouver fans would be pretty pissed off if they traded away Pettersson, also Pettersson is already a huge draw so it doesn't make much sense.

True. As I'm sure Rangers fans would be pissed if they traded the pick and weren't getting Pettersson back in return
