Vegas isn't trading Eakin, even for a realistic package. You'd have to completely bowl them over with an offer to get him. You have us giving up absolutlely nothing to get him. Not going to happen in a million years. I'm a hard NO on Karlsson. He's been on the ice for pretty much every goal SJ has allowed this post season. Let someone else overpay him and get stuck with a lead salary cap anvil 3-4 years from now. Please don't let it be us. Please, Please, Please!!!!

Eakin is a very likely trade candidate in Vegas, they need to open up cap space for the multiple players receiving pay raises this upcoming off-season and having to resign William Karlsson. They have enough options in their top 6 that Eakin is relatively expendable.

I disagree about EK65. He's one of the best defense man of this generation and would immediately improve our defense massively. I'm semi concerned about his health issues but sports medicine has come a long way, look at Giroux's comeback in 17/18. I believe he can make a recovery and be an elite player for us for a handful of years. Even if his contract isn't good by the end of his term, that/s the price to be paid for adding top end players in Free Agency.

Yeah, well that's a price I'd be ecstatic to let someone else pay. We need dmen who can defend. If Vegas does move Eakin, which I don't think they will, I would love to have him. But they will get a TON more than what you proposed in return, that's for sure.

I agree the price for eakin who has 1 year to ufa is pretty close. Maybe a second. Eakin seems like the no brainer on that team to be moved to fre up some cash. Huala can play that 3rd center for less money.

Karlsson can actually defend lol. It's such a lazy narrative people give him. He's only been playing poorly due to not being close to healthy right now. It's fair to be scared of signing him due to his health concerns, but not for his defensive play.

Eakin seems like a very good trade candidate as they have Glass coming up and they need to move salary. I was also on the "hard no to Karlsson" train until this past series where he looked like he was getting healthy again. I don't blame him for his Vegas performance as he clearly wasn't over his injury yet. Now, I would love to target him, for the right price, because he is just too good when he has the puck. Stick him with Provy and my god!

Karlsson plays pretty good positional defense when he really wants to. But he can be pushed around physically. He just isn't what we need, especially if Ghost stays. I'd much rather sign a guy like Stralman who will come cheaper with shorter term and fit our needs better.

Gee, you near the cap (over it with bonus) and have roster of 21. Next year some RFA signings and no expiring big contracts, really don't think it's practical. A smaller cap Dman is probably needed.

Signing Erik Karlsson is more realistic, Then Trouba signing with Philly. Which never is going to happen.

It's pretty close to the cap, but we'll have Gudas, MacDonald (thank ****ing heaven), and Eakin coming off the books next year while needing to re-sign Myers, Patrick, and Lindblom. We'll also probably see Farabee and/or Frost make the team w/ 2 years of ELC's at the start of the 2020 season, meaning we will probably ship one of our higher paid guys out to make room. It's a tight fit, but the Flyers have been looking to have a truly competitive team for years now, and I think this roster could come close to doing that without putting them in too risky of a situation.

You guys are making me optimistic. And I guess maybe I might be overestimating Eakin's value. I'd definitely much rather trade for someone like him than sign Hayes to a big, long term deal like many are pushing for. I do think he'll cost at least a little more than you guys are suggesting though, assuming he is in fact made available.

I’d rather get Haula. He is more skilled than Eakin. Eakin is nothing more than a 3C and we kind of need a guy that is a 2C and will allow Patrick to surpass him.
