Zack Kassian is an elite sniper. He’ll be on our top line next year

VAN decline, Canucks already have enough left shot dman. Virtanen is much more useful to the Canucks in the long term.

Got it, so abstract nonsensical reasons? For sure.

Brodie plays the right side not the left, Virtanen is the 3rd best piece moving in that deal.

VAN has no need for Brodie, they are shallow on right wing and need goals.

Why would we want Brodie? Canucks are rebuilding, Virtanen looks more promising with each passing year, and we're defintely not parting with a 2nd rounder. Think about the situation other teams are in before you trade with them

You know that Brodie plays the powerplay, fills a need on the right side nearly doubles Virtanen's PPG production... as a d man.. Virtanen is a big body bottom six winger, that's about it.

Sure Jan. Kassian was actually playing on our top line for the second half of the season and was producing at a pretty solid rate. Would much rather have him than Czarnik who couldn’t even crack your guys lineup over James Neal until game 5.

Edler and Hughes will be running the powerplay, Virtanen scored 15 goals playing with Sutter and Beagle, next season he will hit 20-25 goals and provide physicality. Virtanen will be a much more useful player for the Canucks in the playoffs.

A 28 year old d man that can move the puck and plays 20+ minutes a night doesn't fit into a team that is shallow on the right side, not to mention that their right side of Tanev, Biega, Schenn, Stetcher, all but one of them are older than Brodie and produce much less. Virtanen is big body that will play in the bottom 6 and clog up the prospects on his next contract. A second rounder is nothing for a solidified top 4 d man that has another good 4-6 playing years. Think about the situation your own team is in before you start trying to dispute things.

Uh huh.. you could put any Edmontonian in their finest sweat pants on a top line with McDavid and they will produce more than just the usual bud lite farts and second hand smoke. So you wouldn't slot Czarnik, who did absolutely produce every time he was in over Reider, Cave, Rattie, Khaira, Brodziak, Gagner. You're lying to yourself, he brings speed that beside McDavid would be elite and would triple what Kassian produces with McDavid.

Tell me why he couldn’t crack your guys lineup over JAMES NEAL LOL. I think you’re overhyping him bud.

That’s not over hyped, that’s how bad the Oilers line up is. You know exactly why he didn’t draw in over Neal, it’s a contract thing like every other team in the league, why does Lucic play over anyone in the AHL? Same situation.
You didn’t even have a rebuttal to the fact that Czarnik is better than every player there that I listed.. it says more about the Flames depth that he didn’t draw in than his talent.

You missed the point bud. I’d love to have czarnik but at the cost of Kassian? No thanks.

Kassian has a lower points per game than Czarnik, Czarnik has a skill set that the Oilers can’t seem to find anywhere and Kassian is a lesser version goon than Lucic and scores the same as Czarnik. If you put Czarnik on a line with McDavid his production sky rockets. It’s a small price to pay to find another top 6 forward. I even threw in a pick here as a courtesy because of division rivals.
