I know everyone is saying the worlds hype won't sway the Devils, but if it does...

Hughes is nothing to scoff at, but Vancouver seems to have a thing for brothers and having the Hughes brothers would be a huge selling point. Maybe they're willing to give a little more back for the extra marketability?
If you assume Pettersson and Hughes are equivalent value wise, this is essentially them trading back 39 draft picks for a marketing gimmick.

For the Edmonton trade, I know Edmonton isn't likely to trade away Klefbom after a down year. They are trying to dump some salary and obtain some able-body forwards though. This is essentially an even cap trade, with the Oilers getting some young assets along with a winger (Namestnikov) who has proven to be a great complimentary piece when paired with great talent. The Rangers need to get a top-pairing defenseman along with clearing some of the road blocks for young kids up front.

This is tough... I just don't see a fit. Pettersson is a non-starter, Boeser as well. I doubt they'd want to move Horvat.

There's just no way Van would ever move Petterson.

Seriously! Who cares if their brothers, will that somehow win them more games than Pettersson and Hughes??? Lol Uniting brothers is just a media gimmick.

You’re probably right, but if I’m the rangers in this scenario and this trade is actually something that Vancouver is exploring, the return above isn’t enough.

Also as badly as I’d love for the rangers to use some draft/prospect capital to move up and also take Caufield ( if he somehow slips past the 10th pick), he’s going to Wisconsin for at least one season before turning pro. He and K’Andre can rip up the NCAA together (with Turcotte who also committed to UW) ?Can you guess where I went to college?

If the Devils take Kakko, the Rangers happily take Hughes and build the team around him...end of story...who knows who is going to have a better career- but both project to be stars in the NHL...This year's pick is a once in a lifetime, debate free, no decision pick (this is the Rangers we're talking here so I do cringe a bit)....It is either 1A or 1B...any trade proposition would need to be so tilted toward the Rangers that for any trade partner (Edm, Van, Col, etc) it would be an absolute non starter.

It’s simple IF Devils pass on Hughes, Peterson MUST be involved otherwise Rangers don’t do it.
