I'd do it from either teams standpoint.
Vancouver gets a potential top pairing defenceman and a 1st and get younger. Colorado has other defence that are already playing well and could use some depth and now would have one of the best 1-2 punches down the middle in the west.
Since Colorado is entering there contention window, this helps them with that, while Vancouver gets a guy who can grow with their young core of Petterson, Hughes and Boeser.
I get the arguement that this is a steep price to pay for Colorado but I think it makes them a better team in the short term and over the next several years since Horvat is still young.
