The only good thing in this deal is Brown, so Anaheim happily accepts this, but Toronto, not so sure you want to take on cap dumps that do not necessarily help your cap.

Anaheim isn’t giving up a 2nd for Zaitsev and brown.

Cap wise they probably should Kesler would be getting paid in full by Anaheim, and Zaitsev is Top 4 D, Brown Top 9 F. I hardly think they wouldn't get rid of 2 bad contracts in Eaves and Kesler for a 2 Pick Downgrade and getting back a Top4 D guy and a Top 9 F.

Brown has regressed the past 2 years, the hope is that he produces at a top 9 rate. Zaitsev is not a top4 D on any good team with any semblance of depth, the guy is straight up horrible. I still see the reasons for the trade, but the leafs players are overvalued. Ironically enough, the CAL trade gives up too much for an admittedly very good 2nd pairing D. I would remove Scott from the deal and maybe upgrade the pick to a third. Might just be my wanting to see more of Scott after this monster season in the WHL.

Zaitsev and Brown aren’t good. Ducks already have plenty of fwds as good or better than brown. And everyone knows Zaitsev’s issues. Giving up Kesler and Eaves adds to the salary cap. Doesn’t help it. Neither is playing next season and most likely won’t ever again. Also not to mention even if it was for cap space the ducks only save $3M. If the ducks are looking to have a quick turnaround it will be with keeping those contracts and using LTIR. Not taking on someone else’s trash.

Kesler contract should be under insurance and for the next year, he will be LTIR.

Both Eaves and Kesler should be insured.

Why do we have all these silly LTIR trades. They don't really affect the cap in anyway. I would hate to trade for him, just in case his 6.8m cap hit is deemed "fit to play" at some time?
