Draft Picks alone won't get Trouba out of Winnipeg. They need players back too

Would they want someone like Rust?

They probably expect to be competitive next year and desperately need a RHD that can put up points and move the puck. Pick is for 2020.

Um no Winnipeg doesn't need more wingers? Chevy will want either a #2C prospect of a future top 4 prospect doubt LHD/RHD doesn't matter from the sound of things.

Uhh, how is that low? Pretty much market value for a player like that. That's the projected contract that Evolving hockey has for him.

No Damn way Schultz is worth a 1st.
He only cost a 3rd when he was younger and healthier.

Trouba's market value is pretty much what he says it is, From what's being reported Trouba is seeking between $7.5M to $8M per over 7 years. Pittsburgh is trending down. Kessel is gone and possibly Malkin as well. Pittsburgh has an aging core. Doubt Trouba has any interest there.

When he was considered a bust and had no where close to the success that he ended up having? He was worth a 3rd as a reclamation project. Then put up like 60 points and got his current contract.

There are a lot of teams that want puck moving RHD. That's why they are valuable.

They were 9 points out of the playoffs and were reasonably close for a lot of last season. Huge improvement over second to last the year before. It's reasonable to think management would like the team to compete for a spot this year with their young talent.
