Unfortunately for Wings fans, Byram will most likely go 3rd or 4th

Where do you see him lower than 5?
I looked at 4 different MockDraft and he moves from 5 to 12th OA
Think:
3= Turcotte
4= Cozens
5= Dach
6= Byram.. I think it's OK
without thinking of Podz, Caufield, Zegras,Krebs
I think that Chicago would love a GREAT D at 3OA... but all very fair from 3 to 10

In front of Turcotte & Cozens? It would be hard: he should be 5-6 at the only exception of Chicago who is looking for D depth

I think the avs will take him at 4 as they have makar but he is a right hand defensemen. Byram is left handed.

No rumors... that's maybe a good sign! but I see the fit with the way the team is built and StevyZ will want to win fast... they have the money and need to spend it squinting with tongue out

I understand... he is the BEST D in that draft no doubt... all I am saying is depending of team need he might fall out 6OA... still not bad IMO... when he was 15th 4 month ago

Byram won't be available at 6. A month ago I thought he would be. But all the latest scouting reports have him jumping up to 3. He's very recently emerged as one of the best players in the draft and there's now a strong belief that Chicago may take him at 3, and if they don't Colorado will jump on him at #4. Sorry dude

You take the best player available unless they're close in skill level. Every scouting report from the past 2 weeks has Byram jumping up. If Colorado has the chance to draft a potentially elite young dman, they'll take it. Despite what they already have on their roster. He's put some distance between himself and Cozens

I agree for Chicago... but Colorado won't go for a D... they need Turcotte or Cozens

CHI may jump on Byram, but they've drafted D with their last few top picks, they need to start looking at Towes replacement (which Turcotte would fit perfectly). COL also doesn't need D, they've got a plethora in the NHL very young, plus a few in the minors. They need Cs, Cozens or Dach (or maybe Zegras). LAK needs everything, so they'll go BPA. It's conceivable that Byram makes it to 6. Either way, one of these 4 that would interest DET will be available at 6: Byram, Turcotte, Cozens, and Dach (and probably in that preference order). Either way, Byram isn't an immediate NHL player (probably only Hughes and Kappo will be this year).

But, in your lineup, no Hronek, who is basically guaranteed a top 4 spot? .5 PPG as a Calder eligible player, without sheltered minutes, a positive Corsi (50.3 on a bad defensive team), and an unlucky PDO (98.3, which means he was unlucky but could have better numbers).

They needed Center... but I believe they didn't though Byram would be available and they jump on him!
and that's maybe why they trade for Kadri... to solve their 2C problem.
Again we all knew that they were weak at C... but went another way wink
